Global AI Summit: Shaping the Future

Paris, February 10, 2025 (OLA NEWS) – The Global Summit on AI Action opened today in Paris, gathering world leaders, industry pioneers, and policymakers to discuss the future of artificial intelligence (AI) and its global impact. Hosted at the Élysée Palace, the summit aims to foster international cooperation on AI governance, ethical considerations, and innovation-driven economic growth.

French President Emmanuel Macron welcomed high-level delegations, emphasizing Europe’s role in shaping an AI framework that balances technological advancement with ethical safeguards. “Artificial intelligence is a game-changer for the global economy and governance. France and Europe are determined to lead the way in building an AI ecosystem that is trustworthy, transparent, and inclusive,” Macron declared in his opening speech.

Among the notable attendees was Zhang Guoqing, Vice Premier of China, reinforcing China’s commitment to AI diplomacy and international collaboration. The Chinese delegation stressed the importance of data security, AI regulation, and global partnerships to ensure responsible AI development. Zhang’s visit to the Élysée Palaceunderlines the growing dialogue between China and France on technological cooperation and trade relations.

The summit also featured a roundtable discussion on AI and global security, where experts from leading tech giants, research institutions, and regulatory bodies debated on the challenges posed by AI-powered disinformation, deepfakes, and cybersecurity threats. France’s Minister for Digital Transformation, Jean-Noël Barrot, called for a global AI regulatory framework that prevents misuse while fostering innovation and competition.

On the sidelines of the event, private sector leaders from companies such as Google DeepMind, OpenAI, and Huaweiunveiled new AI-driven sustainability solutions, aiming to integrate artificial intelligence into climate action, healthcare, and smart cities.

The Global Summit on AI Action is expected to yield key agreements on AI governance, with a focus on international regulations, ethical guidelines, and digital sovereignty. The discussions will continue throughout the week, culminating in a joint declaration that could shape future AI policies worldwide.
